Air Systems International has announced the launch of its new BB60-CO breathing air filtration system in the United States.

The BB60-CO will replace the BB50-CO in the company’s product line starting at the end of April 2025.

According to Air Systems, the BB60-CO builds on more than 40 years of operational history from the BB50-CO, which was introduced in 1984 as the first Breather Box portable Grade-D breathing air filtration system.

The company stated that after extensive testing, the updated unit improves filtration performance, air capacity and ease of maintenance.

The new system is available at the same cost as the BB50-CO.

Air Systems confirmed that the BB60-CO incorporates redesigned filters developed in partnership with a global filter manufacturer.

These new filters remove more moisture and extend the operational lifespan of each of the unit’s three filters.

The company stated that the BB60-CO can process over 60 cubic feet per minute of air, compared to the previous system, and includes automatic drains in the first two filters.

Each filter features a compact design using metal and polymer materials, along with a polymer bowl locking system.

Filtration efficiency figures reported by Air Systems include 99.9999 percent particulate removal and 99.8 percent oil removal.

Air Systems confirmed that the BB60-CO is designed to fit within the existing BB50-CO case, allowing for straightforward replacement and compatibility for users with older systems.

The updated filters are rated for use in environments ranging from 23°F to 140°F (–5ºC to 60ºC).

According to the manufacturer, the redesigned service mechanism improves access and eliminates the risk of injury from servicing the internal components.

Additional changes include the removal of the old metal bowl guard used in previous BB50 filter systems.

Air Systems stated that it will continue to accept purchase orders for BB50-CO and other BB50 Series products through 30 April 2025.

Availability will be on a first come, first serve basis.

The company also confirmed it will continue to stock replacement filter elements for BB50 models “for the next few years.”

For more information, the company has directed customers to its official website.

Air Systems International has introduced the BB60-CO breathing air filtration unit to replace the BB50-CO in the US market from the end of April 2025.

The BB60-CO processes over 60 cfm of air, features automatic drains in the first two filters, and includes a new filter design developed with a global manufacturer.

Filtration efficiency is reported at 99.9999 percent for particulates and 99.8 percent for oil.

The system operates between –5ºC and 60ºC and retains compatibility with existing BB50-CO cases.

Air Systems stated the new model is easier to service and is offered at the same cost as the BB50-CO.

Orders for the BB50-CO will be accepted until 30 April 2025, with limited inventory on a first come, first serve basis.
